The above video, “Sex, gender, and sexuality an anthropological view,” discusses the other cultures’ views on gender and sexuality. The video mentions that in many Indigenous cultures, they identify themselves in many genders. Cultures that recognizes more than two genders are Indian culture which recognize Hijra as third gender, and Native American tribes have two-spirit people who identify themselves in variant gender.
This is important because many people who identify themselves as another gender are being treated unfairly. Few U.S. cities and states are supporting the “Anti-Transgender Bathroom-bill.” So, by studying other cultures and their view on gender identity, we might learn and appreciate them.
This video talk about gender and sexuality same as in book. Both discusses about a surprising fact that many other culture recognizes more than two sexes and also appreciate them.
